I am only a few minutes ago returned from Inland Hospital Emergency Room, where I took Steve at around 6:30 last night, with a fever in excess of 102.

One intravenous course of some super antibiotic and various tests later, and he was admitted for a day -- or two -- they're not exactly sure. A lot depends on how fast the "good case" of pneumonia clears up. It transpires that, once you've been started on the intravenous antibiotic, you have to finish with it.

Good new is that, by the time the nurse came to transport him from the Emergency Room to the Overnight Accommodations, his temperature was back to normal. They have him on oxygen, which is only scary in retrospect, and he was settled into his room and nodding off when I left to come home and get some sleep, myself.

Good thoughts solicited and appreciated.

Steve and Sharon,

Nancy and my thoughts are with both of you as you go through this illness. It sounds like the worse is behind you. Hopefully, Steve will continue to get better and will be home soon. He will just need to stop working so hard and take care of himself. LOL

Just saw your post on FB and dashed over here for the details. Sounds like things are getting better for him but it is still hard on the rest of the family unit.

Positive thoughts flying towards Maine...

Here's hoping he's better soon from a fellow pneumonia sufferer. I am also on a "super antibiotic" and I thinks it really helps. I hope it does for Steve as well. Hope you can get some rest too.

Get well Steve. One person wrote that it takes a while longer to get well from Pneumonia than one might think. I'd take that advice. Hope Steve gets as much rest as possible.

Wow. 88 comments as I'm posting late at night. Shows how many people read your blog. They're out there even though they might not always comment.

Wishes for a good recovery from me, Gus, and the rest of the Furry Gang.
