1. Thanks to everyone who weighed in on the sleep clinic question. The procedure doesn't actually sound either scary or even terrifically inconvenient. My one concern is that I am claustrophobic, and it shows up in bizarre ways. The suggestion that I arrange to go in early and try the mask on beforehand is excellent, and I will definitely try to work that out -- and get a tour of the facility beforehand, too, if possible, so I know what I'm facing.
2. Yesterday, I drove Steve to Bangor to his meeting with the "device technician," who was knowledgeable and informative and was able to set our minds at rest on several fronts. We then drove home, not on the expressway, which was a single continuous sheet of black ice covered with snow, but via Routes 2 and 100, which was also not a picnic, but nobody was swooshing idiotically around us at 95 mph, to end up spectacularly placed in a snowbank, either.
3. Yes, "Intelligent Design" is a Liaden story.
4. Worked late at the day-job in an attempt to catch up the workload. So far, the workload is winning.
5. No writing today -- see #4 above, and also chores when I got home. Maybe tomorrow will be better. Everybody cross fingers.
