1. Finish proofing Saltation galleys
2. Print Chattacon 37 flyer for mailing
3. Print more newsletters for mailing
4. Make bread*
5. Clean cat boxes
6. Do laundry
7. Vacuum and dust
8. Find surface of desk
9. Take down Yule tree
10. Pack away humidifier now that it's clean and dry
11. Figure out what to do about the numerous boxes of books in the living room
12. Print out George and get back to work; vacation's over
Edited to add: 13. Grocery shopping

There's more, but I think twelve's thirteen's more than enough for the weekend.

Also, everybody's seen these, right? I've asked our Russian History professor to please bring one back for the hall, the next time he's in Russia, but I fear there's a waiting list...

Edited to add:

Sat down with Saltation -- and fell asleep. Which prompted me to move on with dough-making and humidifier-stowing. Sat down again -- and started to nod off. Obviously, the answer, Captain Obvious, is to stand up while you're reading the dern proofs. Right after I do the dishes. Which is not, I note, on the to-do list, as wasn't veggie-chopping, though that got done, too.

---------
*That's the "make the dough and set it to rise until tomorrow or the next day" part of making the bread. I suspect tomorrow we'll see "bake bread" on the Revised To-Do.

Does that mean all copies of Skyblaze have been posted? Just asking so I can start watching out for my copy.

Alas. Steve is packing like a mad, packing thing this weekend. We run separate to-do lists and joint tasks (like "Write Book X") move back and forth. In this case, printing the newsletters and the flyers are my contribution to the packing.

Well...it is ceramic. But yes, rather late, though not as late as it's ever been...

My first thought was, "Want one!"

Then I fell over laughing.

The petite lap giraffe site is so funny...for some reason unknown even to myself, the part that made me laugh the hardest is the little triangular banner in the corner which proclaims "As seen on American commercial. Be clicking to view!"

Giraffes and Coon Cats

So, have you researched to see how likely the lap giraffes interacting well with the residents of the Cat Farm & Confusion Factory will be? Our owners already get the required filtered air and water, and would probably share the Bonsai leaves but I'm concerned about the inevitable giraffe/cat races up and down the stairs. There might be some competition for premium lounging spaces as well.

My parents once kept their artificial tree up until April. The ornaments had all been removed, so Mom just unpacked the egg ones and made an Easter tree.

Great minds, slow chore doers -- I just five minutes ago put my tree back in the basement. I figured while the cat was in his kennel, I should do some stuff.

Recipe please for your cold rise bread. I like the idea of not baking it until a day or two later.

Yule Tree

We just hung our Christmas tree (macrame actually) this weekend. My sister was away in Kazakhstan thru the fall and beginning of the new year pursuing an international adoption. She didn't finally get home with her new son 'til about a month ago, and then with our other sister having a spell of illness, and the new little guy settling in (and he's not the only one adjusting; having a two-year old in the house is a very "different" experience)we ended up putting off our faux-Christmas 'til today.

Russian Lap Giraffes

Go to You Tube to see the Russian guy with his lap giraffes. Also hilarious unauthorized home videos of the same. Stalking lap girafes from England very funny. Very cute hoax from Direct TV commercials.

Also a hoax: very small Vietnamese Pot Bellied Pigs. Advertised to remain very small. Usually grow to weigh around 200 lbs. Don't be fooled.

Great to do list. wow. Are we really going to receive our copy of Skyblaze? I can't wait!
