More bidness email dealt with. More laundry done. Amtrak convinced of the Rightness of Refunding the cost of two first class tickets from Chicago to Albany. Documentation supporting this assertion mailed, certified, return receipt, at the local post office. Cat belly scrubbled. Grocery shopping accomplished.

Ran into one of my former faculty members at the grocery store: “Sharon?” he said. I blinked up, saw the face, took a minute to place it…”Hi!” “You look,” he said, “great!”

So does living dangerously improve us all.

Time to collect Steve, who has been dealing with bidness of his own, and hit the kitchen for some lunch. At some point realsoonnow, we’ve got to (re)establish a working schedule around this joint.

Took me a moment to recollect where Guaranteed Delivery fits in, too. It's another excellent story for Splinter Universe http://splinteruniverse.com/ (which I don't see on the sidebar... psst?) Guaranteed Delivery -- Coming soon to a universe near us... via which of the various couriers?

Let's see. We've got Dragon Ship, George, and the sequel to Balance of Trade in play, along with Splinter Universe tales such as Guaranteed Delivery and Kin Ties. A winter chapbook? Not sure what else Sharon and Steve and the cats are teasing out from under the sofa, but pretty soon we'll need a scorecard :-)

Glad you're home safely after navigating the deficiencies of our infrastructure with agility and advertancy. Considering all the travel delays you experienced on the trip as a whole, I think Amtrack should do more than refund the return half of the tickets' cost but sometimes ya take what ya can get.

Am delighted to hear that progress is being made on a new short story. Guess it's time for another "encourage the troops" donation. I certainly got my money's worth of pleasure from Kin Ties! Write on!
