To be fair; it's not about literature vs. genre. It's a war of ideologies -- the core Information Ought to be Free crowd doesn't give a pixel about genre fiction; it's not even on their radar -- they're fighting a Whole 'Nother War.
It's just that working genre and other non-academic writers are getting caught in the squeeze.
