Feel Safer Now? Part 2

So some of the good folken at the Senate have decided that the Forever Prisons for those who cannot be tried due to the inconvenient lack of evidence necessary to convict them -- this notion has been dissed as a "bad idea" by (Republican) Senator Richard Lugar of Indiana, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Meanwhile, (Democratic) Senator Carl Levin of Michigan, senior Democrat on the Armed Services Committee, tells Fox News that, "There must be some modicum, some semblance of due process ... if you're going to detain people, whether it's for life or whether it's for years..." Which is, well -- mind-boggling. But perhaps Senator Levin doesn't know what "modicum" means.

Our new Attorney-General, assuming he's confirmed, is the man who wrote the opinion that aspects of the Geneva Convention were "quaint."

I don't know what to say about this crowd anymore.
