Housekeeping notes: Anonymous Commenters

Because of the large increase in spam hitting back entries in this journal over the last week, and because I will be traveling, I have DISABLED anonymous comment posting.  This means that only registered users of LJ will be able to post comments to entries here.  The posts themselves will remain public and anyone can read them.

I apologize to those regular anonymous posters whom this housekeeping detail will inconvenience, but Necessity Exists.

"Necessity Exists" That is a very dangerous phrase.

The price you pay for fame . . .

(They haven't noticed my existence yet.)

This particular wave of spam seems to be quite erratic. I (and a couple other I asked) haven't seen any at all, while some (like you and two others that mentioned it this morning) are getting deluged.

Just ... strange.

I've been getting a bunch and maybe a dozen people read my LJ (on an exceedingly good day) so it really hasn't seem to have anything to do with fame.

The roll of the dice?

As you say, Necessity Exists. And if there's something we just can't not comment on, then we'll just have to lose our anonymity for that post. And there are multiple options for having an identity, such as the Google option I use.

We all understand Necessity *nods*
