Bad Hand Day
Why look -- the weathercritters are calling for snow on the overnight.
And then sleet.
And then 45-50 F (7-10 C) and rain on Thursday.
In the meantime, it's Cold. Kinzel has already been outside to look for the green comet, guessing it's going to be 'way too cold to do so later on, if we're not actually clouded over. Snow's gotta come from somewhere.
In other news, my hands hurt, which I could bear more easily if I had a couple of six thousand word days under my fingers,and if the whole bit of nonsense didn't put a serious crimp in my style.
Since the printing was done (a day early!), the day was sunny in its frigidness, and Kinzel needed by his book, I determined to drive down to Augusta to pick it up. The car has that wonderful mushy, luxury vehicle steering so I was pretty confident I could do this. Unfortunately, I forgot to factor in the frozen windshield wipers -- and to foresee that the ice would pull the driver's side wiper off its latch, so that it kinda scooted around uselessly on the windshield, smearing, but not clearing. I turned around at the next road down from ours (about a quarter mile), and returned home. There being Just No Way I could drive the truck today, the Augusta run fell to Kinzel, which was not in the Plan. Argh.
In the meantime, I have written, having achieved a minor epiphany regarding the motivation of one of the characters, as well as the evolving nature of luck. I have not written as much as I would like to have written, though I am at the end of a scene. Gonna take a break and see if I can get back for another few words before today rolls over into tomorrow.
