Finished The Reluctant Widow. Was fascinated to see the character of Francis Cheviot. The strangest thing that other characters commented about him was that although he was one of the most accepted gentleman in society he preferred cats to dogs. This was thought of as being really strange. He reminded me a lot of Lady Kareen too. Pat Rin as it turns out operates with a very large scope. Kareen is more concerned with her own family.

Have ordered R.A.McAvoy's first book, I think it is, Tea with the Black Dragon. Thanks for the tip. I'm not familiar with this author at all.

Tea with the Black Dragon is an excellent novel. I happen to be extremely fond of The Grey Horse. You might also keep an eye out for the Trio for Lute: Damiano, Damiano's Lute, Raphael

I think we've read all but one (The Great Roxhythe, which we've never been able to find) of the Heyer Regencies, over and over and over again. What we're doing right now is using them as wind-downs -- we alternate choosing a book, and the alternate reading chapters.
