My deepest sympathies. That said, why weren't the battery terminals serviced every month or so? That's one of the first things my dad taught me to do on a car. Clean the terminals, check the water levels in the cells, check the oil and tires. Basic Stuff, as he put it. Even at 60, I still do it.
