Eagles Over the Kennebec

I'm going to suggest "Veil of the Dancer." It could be made very easily and on a reasonably low budget, because there are so few overtly science fictional elements in it, so there wouldn't be much need for costly special effects. And it's got a relatively straightforward storyline that wouldn't need to lose much in the adaptation.
