Deliveries, Murphy, and All
Thursday, March 3rd, 2005 05:46 pmCrystal Soldier was supposed to arrive here at the Fortress of Solitude today -- 500 of them, to be signed and shipped to their proud owners. Also due to arrive today was the order of large video boxes replacing the order that the post office sent to Benton -- no, I don't know why; and neither do they, sigh. It will come as no surprise that only one of these promised deliveries actually arrived -- yup, the video boxes. Tomorrow, perhaps, the books will show up. It would be extremely handy if they did, which means they'll manifest on Monday. In the snow.
The day has been a little light on substance. I've got some negligible sort of con-crud, which is making it a bit hard to concentrate: all I really want to do is curl up under the down comforter, where I have a good chance of being warm enough, and sleeping. Instead, I spent more time than it should have taken deconstructing and reconstructing the virtual label set provided by Meisha Merlin. It is now in shape to print the actual labels I have on hand, which is nice. I note that this year the list has arrived in alphabetical order, rather than order-received order, so once the books are here and signed, the mail runs will proceed in an organized and rational fashion. Ahem.
I'm going to try to get some writing done this evening -- no promises, though; that comforter is looking mighty appealing. Yesterday, I patched in a missing datapoint down in chapter eleven, which was good for 300 words and an "OK, now that makes sense!" Good author, have some chocolate.
