I'd forgotten exactly how Miri managed to arrive in the Grotto in time to save Val Con's hat, when she was in a whole 'nother hyatt and intending to leave town without him.

The thing I was reading for was how (and when and in what manner) the. . .err. . .

. . .the Loop manipulates and outright lies to him; and to pinpoint the place where it decides that he is compromised and unrecoverable.

. . .we actually did pretty well with that progression. . .I'll say, for novice writers. If I were doing it fresh, now, I might've tweaked a couple things, but it's perfectly serviceable, as written.
