This might well convert into a short story set on New Dublin since you have conflict, cornering the whiskey market.

Assuming Gordy's Cantra are no more than 10% of aged stocks I think the story is reasonable plausible.

Whether Gordy's skill has to be of the same order as Jeffrey's to earn those Cantra depends on their value which, as we all know, is pretty fuzzy.
