The world-building was fine, and the sentences were good, but I did have some problems with it. Such as, if the Others are monsters -- and they do seem to be monsters -- why in ghod's name do they have human names? Also the reason they took Meg in was really pretty sketchy, unless I'm to believe that being of the "sweet blood" acts to make monsters like you. I remember that there were other points of irritation, but I don't really remember what they were, anymore.

It being readable, I read it -- mostly to find out what happened to Meg and to see if someone would please kill Simon. If another one in the series fell my way, I'd read it, but I don't feel compelled to seek the next one out.
