Who let that fish in here?
Saturday, May 7th, 2005 02:19 pmThe rain, it does rain. And then rains some more. I think I missed the ruling where we only get one sunny day out of every set of seven?
Speaking of which -- the Maine Legislature, in a fit of common sense, is debating whether or not to place Maine into the Atlantic Time Zone, thereby syncing us with our nearest neighbor -- Maritime Canada -- and doing away with Daylight Savings Time. I could live with that -- one small step toward the eventual and inevitable secession and subsequent consolidation of Maine and the Maritimes.
Chores go on apace, tho damply. FedEx Ground still swears that the parcel from WinterSilks will be here today. Doesn't seem likely to me, what with having to fight the current from Lewiston up-river, but -- we shall see.
This evening's movie, The Two Towers, extended version.
On the Forester naming front, the following are currently on the table: Robin, Aragorn (cue Twilight Zone music -- a guy I was Very Serious About, back in the Jurassic, had named his Camaro Strider), and Gyles Argent.
Why, look! It's raining...

Date: 2005-05-07 12:18 pm (UTC)Don't worry, it won't last. They'll be back to debating "gay genes" and spending my grandchildren's earnings come Monday. (No grandchildren -- legislature is a little slow on the uptake...)
I could live with Atlantic Time. And, as you say, we have to get Them used to succession by small steps.

Date: 2005-05-08 07:13 am (UTC)Hm. If that were the case, then places like Arizona and Hawaii couldn't thumb their noses at Daylight Savings Time, could they?
Not a big fan of DST, here...
