I note that a "Like New!" copy of the Meisha Merlin hardcover edition of I Dare is being offered by one of Amazon.com's third-party vendors for the trifling sum of $525.69. Honestly. If anyone is desperate enough to consider shelling out five bills and change for this excellent volume, please contact the authors. We ought to be able to get a copy into your hands for oh, fifty bucks under the advertised.

Sheesh.

Happily, balance for such blatant acts of market-working is easy to achieve. [livejournal.com profile] klingonguy is organizing a way to get books and magazines to those who have been sent to war. Check out the Book and a Buck project. A worthy work. Support it, if you can.

I've added the contact information that I can.

According to the military, I can't just post an address for people to send books to. Apparently that violates security. Go figure.

Instead, I'm asking people to contact me (I've set up an email account just for this purpose) in one of three categories:

1) They're nearby (Philly, PA) and want to work out arrangements to drop off or have me come and get their books.

2) They're willing to pack up and ship their books themselves and just need some details on what and how to do it, along with a viable address to ship to.

3) They just want to make a monetary donation to help me defray the costs of shipping other people's books.

As for the site being "secure," I don't know what that entails. I'm an author and a psychologist and a klingonist. I'm not a programmer or web-designer (as is quickly evident by visiting the site at http://www.GiveBooks.us). So, if the site needsd to be more secure than it is, I haven't a clue how to do it.

Thanks,

Lawrence
