Five Things of Possible Interest

rolanniThing One: For those of who have been anxiously -- and patiently! -- awaiting news of electronic editions for With Stars Underfoot and Crystal Dragon... We spoke yesterday with the estimable Richard Michaels of Embiid and are now able to say with assurance that With Stars Underfoot will be available on or around August 1. There will, we all agree, be an electronic edition of Crystal Dragon, however, it's impossible at the moment to announce an exact pub date, since we have not yet received the editorial letter from Meisha Merlin. Best guess for an electronic edition is "Fall." Watch this space and/or the Embiid site for more information.
Thing Two: We hear from fans in Sweden and other far-flung places that Women of War, edited by Alexander Potter and Tanya Huff, and including Many Fine Stories(tm) by Many Fine Writers(tm), among them "Fighting Chance," by one Lee and one Miller, has hit the shelves. It's worth noting that the publication date is July 5, and that other fans in equally far-flung places report that their local bookstores do not as yet have this very worthy DAW anthology on sale. So, as always: Watch the Skies.
Thing Three: Buzzy Multimedia reports that a "gluing error" has put the release of the audiobook version of Local Custom back slightly. The new announced ship date is "no later than July 10." More information at the Buzzy site.
Thing Four: Liaden Universe(R) Companion, Volume One may yet see publication this year. Printer quotes need some careful scrutiny and hard decisions need to be made regarding trade versus hardcover (mass market not an option at this time). As soon as it's all sorted out, and a price and a date are fixed, the information will be posted on the SRM catalog page and elsewhere.
Thing Five: If you're going to a convention and have room to take some paper for the freebie table with you, please let me know. You will, for your unselfish work, gain my undying gratitude.
