Where did the day go?
Let's see...
Did the laundry with assistance from Scrabble, who lovesLovesLOVES to do the laundry. Built a database, and caught up with the bookkeeping and filing. Rubbed Mozart's belly. Did some more laundry. Ate lunch with
kinzel, and chatted with Max! who really thought he could have some of my fish, thanks. Entered the orders that had accumulated during lunch into the new database. Rubbed Mozart's belly. Initiated and answered correspondence. Read a piece of ...something... I'd written a couple weeks ago, and subsequently lost under the filing, and wondered whether I ought not just trash it. Wrote. Rubbed Mozart's belly. Wrote some more.
I am now able to report -- and with great joy -- that Robin Wayne Bailey will be accepting Balance of Trade's Hal Clement Award on behalf of
kinzel and myself. The Award Presentation will be part of the Heinlein Banquet at NASFiC Sunday evening.
I am also able to report that the laundry is done and that Mozart wants his belly rubbed again. Scrabble is on top of the file cabinet, asleep with her toes on display, utterly worn out with the excitement of laundry-doing.
There was not as much progress on the Title-Free Wonder (which may end up being called "Necessary Evil" unless something more appropriate suggests itself soon *taps foot*) as I had hoped for. I'd really like to have it done in first draft before we leave for Dragon*Con.
