TO BOSKONE WE SHALL GO
Meisha Merlin will officially release Crystal Dragon into an unsuspecting world at Boskone, February 17-19, at the Sheraton Boston, 39 Dalton Street. As a bonus for convention-goers, there will be a special three-way book signing: Sharon, Steve, and Artist Guest of Honor Donato, who painted the covers for Crystal Soldier and Crystal Dragon, as well as for Hal Clement Award Winner Balance of Trade. Check the Meisha Merlin booth in the Dealer's Room for details.

CALAMITY'S CHILD ARTIST ANNOUNCED
Thomas Peters will be doing the cover art for SRM Publisher's Calamity's Child, which is now available for pre-order. Links to snippets of "A Night at the Opera," and "Sweet Waters" may be accessed from the SRM site.

We are very pleased to announce that Lee and Miller's Sword of Orion debuted at Number Three on the Locus Bestseller List for February.

STEVE MILLER JOINS SPEAKERS BUREAU
Steve has gotten the nod from the crew at AboutSF to join their speaker's bureau. This will be a great opportunity for him to share his experiences from the academic side of SF. For those who don't know, Steve was the founding curator of the Albin O. Kuhn Library's Science Fiction Research Collection, housed at the University of Maryland's Baltimore County Campus, in Catonsville, Maryland. If you need a science fiction speaker, look to AboutSF!
PARTNERS IN NECESSITY GOING BACK TO PRESS
In June, Meisha Merlin will be reprinting Partners in Necessity in both hardcover and trade paper. Partners collects the first three Liaden Universe(R) novels, Conflict of Honors, Agent of Change, and Carpe Diem. The original omnibus was published in 2000, as a limited-run hardcover, and a widely available trade paper, and has since gone out of print. We're delighted to see it coming back!

Date: 2006-02-13 04:01 pm (UTC)I miss conventions almost enough to go to one but I hate not knowing people,being basically shy despite exhibits to the contrary. I met most of the fenish-people I know in Austin at Armidillo Con but I don't really like that con (not enough filking). Attempts to get to know con com et-all and help out only lasted two years so it has been six or so since I have been to any con.
