DHL has finally delivered. This means that the paperwork from Meisha Merlin is in hand, and
kinzel and I can begin packing actual orders tomorrow. We look to get the first batch of books into the mail on Friday, lather-rinse-repeat until we have our living room back.
Alert readers will have notice that a few days ago and announcement that I was about to Change One Thing in the work in progress, and a request for prayers. The One Thing has been Changed, and the prayers were potent for, lo!, the Change has wrought what I had hoped, and things are moving along quite briskly now, thankyouverymuch.
The score, at the end of the rewritten chapters and one-and-a-half more:
Fans of Dulsey, rejoice! She has been having increased periods of Supervised Play, and at this moment appears to be back in form. Her injured foot shows a slight bend, but not to impede her, and only adds to her Intrinsic Beauty. Had we known I would've named her Teacup.
And, on the Disturbing side of the street -- yesterday, I needed to know how to set butterfly stitches (for the WIP), and the very first return on my search was a FAQ for people who mutilate themselves, describing the various self-injuries and how to care for them. Which is ...very unsettling...

The strange twists of research
Date: 2006-03-21 06:54 pm (UTC)Back when I worked for Bungie Software we did a lovely mailing of out to the press of beta the Myth The Fallen Lords game - and we did a cool wooden box (like the ones that wine comes boxed in) with the game's logo woodburned on the front. I needed to get competitive bids on that project so I turned to the internet. The techical term for that type of woodburning is "branding" and I learned more in that first round of search returns than I ever wanted to know.

Only if she promises not to try it
Date: 2006-03-22 04:37 pm (UTC)It was on CNN yesterday, and hit the Japanese TV news this morning. I think this article leads to a copy of the video

Swandiving 24 meters seems extreme for a cat, though. So get Dulsey to promise first.
