The Writing Life
Saturday, March 27th, 2004 11:50 amWriting is a lonely business. It's also brutal, senseless, emotionally draining, wonderful, fulfilling, and scary as hell. Today's story is scary as hell.
Katherine Lawrence, who has turned her considerable creativity successfully to fiction, feature animation, live action TV, interactive games, non-fiction, and biography -- and who has been a mentor and guide for several "younger" writers -- has gone missing. A friend has received a suicide note, the police have been alerted, her friends and acquaintances everywhere are frantic for her safety. As of this writing, neither Kath nor her car have been found, which the police are taking as a Good Sign. Balancing that is continued Radio Silence, despite numerous messages left on her cell phone by concerned friends. I'm hoping very hard that she turns up soon, having thought better of the whole thing and seriously annoyed with all of us for having made such a fuss.
Prayers, candles and/or Other for Kath's safety are being actively solicited, here.
