All righty, then!
Sunday, July 2nd, 2006 10:56 amI have finished the revisions for Gunshy. Yes, I know I'd already finished them once, but the last two chapters still needed tweakage. It would, I suppose, help, if I could just get the knack of writing smooth, bland characters who have taken neither scars nor attitude from their life experiences.
Or maybe not.
Anyhow, the Book Entire now having gone to the copy editor, I believe I may say with Complete Confidence that the revisions are done. Until the copyedit comes in.
I will say, in keeping with the Law as lain down by
matociquala, that the book does not suck; nor does the writer. Indeed, I look forward to reading Carousel Tides some time in the next week and discovering that it, too, does not suck, though it may very well Need Work.
Yesterday, the sun came out for the first time in Approximately Forever, and, the book having gone to the copy editor,
kinzel and I drove out to Rockland, where we did an Instant Signing at the shiny! new! HUGE! Breakwater Bookland, before continuing down to the harbor to stare at all the pretty boats, including the schooner Wings out of Seattle, Washington. It was a breezy day, the floating docks were ...frisky, and a good time was had by all. Except, possibly, the cats, who had expected us to stay in all day and cater to their Every Whim.
This morning brings the news that Shaenon Garrity, who writes and draws Narbonic has moved the archives to Web Comics Nation, where they may be viewed for One Hundred Percent Free! This means that you, too, can become addicted to, IMHO, one of the best webcomics around. And, please, if you like what you read, support the artist by dropping a buck or two in her tip jar.
Also? For those who have already succumbed to Mad Science, Narbonic Volume Three is now available directly from the author. I ordered mine this morning. It will look well on the bookshelf next to Volumes One and Two.
It is now a beautiful, sunny, bright and breezy day in our little corner of Central Maine, after a bleak and rainy beginning.
kinzel is already planning Refrigerator Soup for dinner and me, I'd better look at doing a load or two of laundry. Oh, and finishing up my read of Pretties.
Or maybe not.
