Yes! No! Yes!

So, I have a job again, Sunday through Thursday on the 3-11 shift, starting Monday, July 31. Not exactly sure what all that was about, but it's lovely to have prospects of income.

The weather outside is frightful, the air conditioners are on, much to Mozart's disgust, and I'm noodling away at Carousel Tides. There is an impressive amount of stuff hinted at and implied in those two zipped chapters. I believe I may have discovered why the so-called Compleat Draft came up short...

kinzel is back from hunting and gathering in the humid heat, and reports Shaw's awash with Summer People. This is, despite appearances, a Good Thing, and puts to rest early fears that the seasonal residents would stay away in droves, hostage to the hideous cost of gas.

And now, back to work...

OK. Now that the job is On, and I will have to write in the morning, when my Muse, party animal that she is, likes to dictate in the evening, I invested my day in producing Notes. This is not my favorite activity, but -- necessity exists, seeing as I've just arrived at the place in the manuscript where the structure took the most damage from that One, Single Thing* I changed 'way back yonder.

*Actually, I've made four changes between this edition, which I am, in defiance of common sense, calling The Final Draft and the so-called Compleat Draft of yestermonth. Two infodump chapters were pulled and the info spread out more evenly through the story, a Clue was planted earlier than previously, and the relationships of two of the characters has been subtly, but appropriately, altered.)
