And now, a word from our sponsor
Tuesday, August 22nd, 2006 08:48 amAs advertised elsewhere, SRM Publisher is now taking pre-orders for the 2006 Yule Chapbook, working title Allies. This chapbook will include two short stories by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller: "Fighting Chance," reprinted from last year's Women of War, and an all-new, never-before-seen-and-not-yet-even-(ahem)-written story, title to be announced as soon as the authors come up with one. This chapbook, like Yule chapbooks of yore, will ship in November.
For the Liadens in the audience, I will note that this will be the twelfth chapbook in the Adventures in the Liaden Universe(R) series.
In other publishing news, the printer has surrendered the last batch of Gunshy, and the SRM elves are hard at work packing and mailing the pre-ordered copies. If you have hesitated to order Sharon Lee's second Maine mystery while it was still essentially vaporware, hesitate no longer.
By what art I hesitate to speculate, SRM Publisher has acquired one case each of The Summer Country, and The Winter Oak signed by author James A. Hetley, LJ's own
jhetley. If you haven't read Jim's brand of toothy contemporary fantasy, you owe it to yourself to take a look.
SRM's latest publication is Buffalogenesis by Lawrence M. Schoen, aka
klingonguy. If you've read the previous tales of the Amazing Conroy and his buffalodogs, collected in Buffalogic (SRM Publisher, Ltd. 2002), this second volume is a must-have. If you haven't yet encountered a buffalodog, be warned -- they are highly addictive. Both Buffalogenesis and Buffalogic may be ordered from the SRM Publisher catalog page.
While you're over at the SRM site, don't forget to check out the fine offerings from such splendid writers as Ru Emerson, Mark W. Tiedemann, and Bud Webster.
