As previously advertised, there's going to be a science fiction convention in High Point, North Carolina from Friday March 13 through Sunday March 15. Holy Cow! That's this coming weekend! It's going to be a fun time -- Mr. Miller and I will be there as Literary Guests of Honor; William Stout as Artist Guest of Honor; and John Wick as Gaming Guest of Honor (Uncle Timmy, the Fan Guest of Honor will not be able to attend, due to the need to recover from surgery -- everybody think Good Thoughts for his quick and complete recovery, please).

In addition to the honored guests, there will be a bunch of interesting folks doing panels, and talking about science fiction and fantasy, among them the ever-amiable Ms. Lee Martindale, the erudite Mr. Alan Wold, and the shy and retiring Mr. John Ringo.

Steve and I have just this morning received our schedule, reproduced below for your reading pleasure.

Changing the time back and forward always knocks me for a loop. I don't know why that should be, but there you have it. Today, being loop-knocked translated into not being nearly as productive as I wanted to be, and! in failing yet again to answer the backlogged email.

On the upside, I did get the laundry almost done, and I confirmed that I can download files from the Dropbox website onto The Leewit, open them, work on them and upload them, so, yanno, that's all good. I also figured out most of what I'm going to wear at the con. I am trying to do this whole packing thing with a bare minimum of angst. No, really.

In weather news, it was hot (for Maine values of hot) again today and the snow, it is melting. The mud in the driveway is looking pretty oppressive. I hope I can get to my car. Heck, I hope my car hasn't been swallowed by tomorrow morning.

Unhappily, it's looking like our trip down to the train station on Wednesday is going to be enlivened by Mixed Precip. Maybe the weatherbeans can work on improving that forecast over the next couple days.

Hexapuma is, as I write this, imitating a Sploded Cat in Mozart's (formerly my) rocking chair, while Mozart is curled up in the Really Warm Corner, with his tail over his nose.

Hope everybody else is just that comfortable, wherever you may be.

"We should scarcely care to disoblige the Code, or the guest." He bowed, sweet as a flower dancing on its stem. "I will myself drive you to Jelaza Kazone. Do you leave immediately?"
