Today's adventures at the day-job included borrowing the Big Yellow Wagon from the Library and rolling it down the hill to the Dean of Faculty's office, where I took on 10 loose-leaf binders, each weighing significantly more than my head, and dragged them back up the hill to my office, where I commenced in to taking them apart. These binders represent a semester's worth of my time -- four merit reviews and a tenure case. It took less than four hours to dismantle everything. All that's left is a stack of empty binders to put onto shelves and a pile of dividers. Everything else? Is to shred.

Wow, is that fulfilling, or what?

OTOH, it was kinda nice, sitting on the floor with the window open and the cool, cigarette-tainted breeze wafting in, with the music cranked up so I could hear it over the death-rattle of the dandelions. Almost like having the day off.

Ahem.

On the subject of work -- Steve has this very morning turned Saltation in to Toni at Baen! Go on over and give him a hand. As I understand it, he's celebrating his freedom by going to the grocery store, a feat made possible by the arrival the check from the sale of the German rights to Plan B. There will be pizza and dancing tonight! Or at least pizza.

I am SO ready for the weekend. Guess I'd better pick up the binders before I go...
