Speech, speech!

My talk went well -- people laughed in the right places, anyway, and nobody threw tomatoes. I was especially impressed with how many members of the audience said that they read science Fiction.

It was a little disconcerting to have to raise an aspect at the day-job, but the feeling of weirdness passed off. My co-presenters were all articulate, passionate, and interesting, and I had a great time.
