There will come the soft rains

rolanniOr, in the case of today, the heavy rains accompanied by growls of thunder, over off to the left. Sadly, this appears to have done nothing much for the heat or the humidity, though I retain a childish hope that the rains have at least washed some of the Gunk(tm) out of the air.
We Shall See.
From the Department of Well, That Sucks -- the job fell through. This is unfortunate not because I necessarily wish to make a career of being one of those intrepid Operators who are Standing By, but because we really, really could've used the money. August and September are going to be...Interesting.
In the Small Victories Department, New Chapter 20, In Which Kate Gets A Clue, has been completed and is roughly the word count of Condensed Chapter 20. Tomorrow, I will move on to New Chapter 21, which is not, as you might suppose, the rewriting of Condensed Chapter 21, but part of the continued unpacking of Condensed Chapter 20. I may set a record, here, and get six chapters for the price of two. Stay tuned...

kinzel has been slaving over a hot layout program. I'm pleased to report that Gunshy is ready to go, and Buffalogenesis is coming along nicely. Both are scheduled to go to the printer on Monday, assuming that the roads are passable.
Having worked so virtuously all day long, it's time to knock off and give our hands and eyes some rest.
