The Day, In Brief
Wednesday, August 9th, 2006 09:05 pmWent to work. Got trained on the NEC telephone system. Be Afraid. Be very, veryAfraid.
Left work at the appointed time, went to the bank and the post office. Came home, ate dinner, went to Augusta with one!more!iteration! of Gunshy on disk. Listened to The Lonely Bull on the way. I fear it has not aged well -- and, yes, the same can be said of me.
The printer was kind enough to run a proof copy of Gunshy for me more-or-less on the spot. And to amuse me while I waited, there was the proof copy for Buffalogenesis. Both proofs passed the Random Weird Character Test (judged by lack of RWC). Got a promise from the printer for Actual Books on Friday, which is cutting things, um, close. Returned home. Listened to J. McMurtry's Childish Things on the way.
At home, sat in front of computer and yelled at Kate a lot until she forked over with the personal history I needed to make this bit work. Wrote, wrote, and then for a change, I wrote.
Stopping now because my hands are tired. Also, I'm hungry. And a glass of wine is looking mighty good.
Tomorrow,
kinzel is scheduled for some work behind the nose (and if you haven't read the Myles na'Gopaleen's Cruiskeen Lawn columns collected in The Best of Myles, go thou forth immediately and do so, or you'll be forever the poorer for not knowing what that reference pertains to. Tell them Lou McIntosh sent you.).
Good thoughts for
kinzel appreciated.
