And so, a day

I met a very nice dog, and had a lovely chat with her people. I did a Serious Excavation of my office, including filling two paper boxes with back issues of SFWA Bulletin, Locus, SF Chronicle, and various WorldCon program books (why do I have a MagiCon program book, I wonder; I'm pretty certain I wasn't there...) Not only can I see the floor (or I could, if I moved the paper boxes), I can see the top of my work table! Yes, I know what you're thinking -- How does she bear up under the unending Glamour and Excitement?

Alas, the anticipated check did not arrive today, which is too bad, especially since I went ahead and foolishly used the tax money to, um, pay the property tax.

In other news, Scrabble-cat got herself locked outside this afternoon, and wasn't discovered until [livejournal.com profile] kinzel and I went out for an evening walk. By which time Scrabble was frantic and the screen door shredded. I really wanted to replace the screen door this week...

What has not gone forth today is -- writing. [livejournal.com profile] kinzel had suggested an alternate plan of attack for the story known as "There's a Star in the East on Christmas Morn," which I've been mulling over for the last few days, and this afternoon, the Back Room delivered up an epiphany, which I thought I'd run with this evening, but, with one thing and another -- ain't gonna happen. I foresee an early morning and a couple pots of coffee in my very near future.

My eyes are tired, so I'm going to get off of this infernal machine.

See y'all tomorrow.
