The names of the senators who voted in favor of torture, and to make the president of the united states (small caps intended) the sole and final arbiter of your -- yes, YOUR -- fate. If the president takes a madcap whim, YOU may now be taken away, secretly imprisoned for as long as the president feels like keeping you, denied a lawyer and a trial, tortured.

What happened to "We the people"? So far every voice I've heard has been outraged, appalled, ashamed. Those who voted yes *work for us*. *WE* elected them. On whose behalf was this vote passed?

This vote was passed on behalf of the upcoming election and the desparate need for the Republican party to at least appear to hang together. (Oooh, wouldnt that be nice). I have no lanswer for MY Dem senator's approval, however. I wish he were up for reelection this year. No, I don't. the alternative would surely be just as bad or worse.
