Among the many side effects of working the Season at my cousin Bean's is the Ritual Disarray of The Calendar. Despite that much of what I do at work is date driven, it's difficult to remember what day it is when the schedule has one working Sunday, Wednesday, Friday, Monday, &c. The best one can hope for is to achieve a rhythm: Work-off-off. Work-Off. Work-Off-off. Work... Which is all very well and good for Work's purposes, but plays utter havoc with the rest of life's Scheduled Events.

In other news, Google Translate still lacks a Liaden-English/English-Liaden function, though dea'Gauss has written to them repeatedly on this topic. I suppose the next step is sending Nelirikk up to talk with them. This does give one pause, but, really, better Nelirikk than Val Con, I think...

Today's to-do list includes filling out the Boskone questionnaire, answering at least some of my seriously backlogged email, filling SRM orders. Oh, and there's some writing to be done in there, somewhere.

Guess I'd better get on the stick...

ETA: LJ spellcheck doesn't recognize Liaden. Or Nelirikk -- which is just as well, really...

Astonishing! Talk about waaaaay behind the times. I'd go ahead and send Val Con. I mean, Google is becoming very corporate and bureaucratic. Perhaps they *need* Val Con. I really need to go reread all those. I have a terrible feeling I'm without one or two. But I love your books. snarkiness with flair.

Go right to the web and ask the source

One does hesitate to comment on a process already undertaken, but it appears that if one goes to http://services.google.com/tcbin/tc.py and fills in the requisite information, it is possible to aid and abet the Google translation process. Given that they list "Elmer Fudd" as one of their translation languages, can Liaden be far behind?

Okay, although I'm not sure about goofing:

遊べないでよ、亀を送りなさい。

don't play around, send a turtle?

hum. Google automatic translation says
しくじることを止め、カメを送りなさい

Ah! Blundering situation stop, send a turtle.

Actually, I think the google version is better. Thanks, I just learned a new idiom.
