Ebook News
We're pleased to announce that, through the perseverance of our agent and the goodwill of folks who recently suffered a great loss, the first ten Liaden Universe® novels will be appearing as Baen ebooks. The novels will initially be released in two, five-book electronic omnibi, with the first volume, Korval's Legacy, currently expected to go on sale in approximately mid-February.
We want to thank all of you who have given us suggestions, both for Baen and for other ebook publishers; let us say that we diligently explored a number of possibilities and will be quite happy to have our Liaden novels available electronically once again. We think you ebook fans will be as pleased as we are.
As soon as we have final pricing and firm release dates we'll use the InfoDump network to share the news.
Mark your calendars: The first chapter of Fledgling goes live on Monday, January 22
In InfoDump #57, we announced the serialization of the brand-new, not-even-written-yet Liaden Universe® novel, Fledgling. At that time, we said that the first chapter, which will be posted at noon EST on Monday, January 22, will be free for all to read, but that the posting of subsequent chapters will depend on the interest of readers. For every $300 donated, we would post another chapter, but in no case more than one chapter per week.
Well, Fledgling is now funded through chapter 14, which is scheduled to be posted on April 30.
That's right, thirteen chapters funded and Chapter One won't go live for another ten days.
You guys are awesome!
