rolanni: (it's snowing!)

Six inches on the deck, eight inches on the lawn, let's call it seven inches of snow on the overnight. Wet, heavy snow that was a sonofagun to move, but we have persevered. Argent the Valiant Subaru is, hopefully, up to breaching the minor wall left behind by the town plow.

It's 31 degrees F, and snowing lightly.

Whoever thinks with longing of the quiet and peace of the countryside has never had a tree-full of redwing blackbirds loudly ridiculing your shoveling style in-between demanding accessible bird seed right!now!

Just sayin'

So, a path shoveled, the car excavated, the birds fed, the cats cookiefied, kibbled, and watered. Need to pack a lunch and decide what shape breakfast will be in this morning, then off to work.

Edited to add: And just as I hit "post" the power blew out the Windows machine, so I'm adding this note via the Linux box and LJ's saved draft.

If you see Steve Miller on the road this morning, wave!

Actually nowhere near either of you, but waving anyway! On my way to work too, after having fed my own hungry kittens.
You've the Luck today, my friend! I was paid at both jobs yesterday, so went to Paypal already this morning.
Fewer lattes, more Liad!
BTW, any chance there might be a stray copy of Pilot's Choice in that truck? Or at least Scout's Progress?
Have a great day!

*waves back*

Scout's Progress -- no; 'cause that's only available in the Ace edition as a single book. In Theory, Pilots Choice is out of print. OTOH, we heard that Meisha Merlin was selling copies at a convention no longer than a month ago. I guess the answer is: Anything is possible.

Why not drop me a note, requesting we set aside a Pilots Choice for you, if we do happen to have one?

Have a great day!

You, too!

I totally sympathize with the snow business; that sort of snow is the sort I grew up with on Long Island. At the same time, such snow is one of the reasons I appreciate Seattle. Generally speaking, our winters are milder and there's not so much of the shoveling required.

I'm just so impressed that you're awake early enough to get all of this done before it's time to eat breakfast and head for work. I hate getting up early -- and I especially hate physical labor before breakfast.

Hope the roads Steve travels today are all dry.
