[livejournal.com profile] kinzel is looking for ebay tips/info over here. If anybody can help out, we'd be appreciative.

In the meantime, I am fascinated by this store Mmmmm. Jade pencil vase. Dragons. Vintage Tibetan Yak Skin Oak & Fairy Jewel Box. Though one may not want to look too closely at the various available parsings for that last item...

Every one of those pictures is defaced with the site name obscuring details of the figures. Made me cross-eyed.

Hmmm. The eBay seller is in Australia with the item in China. Sounds like the seller is agent for tourist trinkets. The shipping is about twice the cost of the item. Also the this seller have a large number of recent negative feedbacks.

However, if Rolanni stills wants the mini vise. Then the total price is somewhat reasonable. But I think it's a little on the high side.

Rolanni may want, but Rolanni isn't buying anything for the Next While.

And you're right about the postage. Also? Thirty to 45 days for delivery is...faintly absurd...

Me think Rolanni didn't have her morning beverage when she posted the above message. The eBay web page states 4 - 5 days for EMS (expedited mail service AKA USPS courier), not 45 days. It's a reasonable shipping fee. After all, the USPS have a $20 minimum for a half pound package by EMS to China before the new rates take effect. It's the regular shipping that's somewhat high.

Are you worried about vintage Tibetan yaks, vintage Tibetan yak skins (which are probably not exportable, come to think of it), or the Fairy Jewels (and who will come to visit you when you possess those jewels, eh?)?

My guess is that the basic item is a vintage jewel box. The origins are in Tibet. And it is made from Yak skin, oak, and fairies? Whoops, that didn't work out right.

You're right, don't look too closely at the parsings. Just enjoy the item.
