Yes, boys and girls, I typed for hours and hours and all I have to show for my efforts is a lousy 500 words. The fact that I ripped out the last half of chapter 12 and totally rewrote it is invisible -- and unimportant. The fact of the matter is, rewrite or not, the word count advanced but minutely this day.

I need to go do, um, dishes. You'd think, by looking at the sink, that I was actually working or something, sigh. In a few hours, we're going over to Waterville to help our friend Ellen at Children's Book Cellar host her Pottering. I may get another couple hundred words down today between it all, but -- probably not.
