We had weather today; a nice, crunchy line of thunderstorms, complete with torrential downpours, timed with suspicious exactness to begin just as I was leaving for my doctor's appointment.

I see that there's going to be a Pirate Fest at the wicked town of Rockland in September, which looks like a lot of fun. Who knew Rockland still had an event-free weekend in the town schedule?

Even better is Lemon Chiffon, my grandmother's traditional fancy treat for birthdays - made it today for my Mom's 77th. Three eggs, 1 cup sugar, zest & juice of one lemon, a little water and a piecrust turn into a fluffy fantasy...

I've found that a batch of bread has much the same (wondrous) result. Settled mind on the part of the cook, happy stomachs on the part of the consumers.
