Steve Miller and I really do try to answer all of our email from readers. Sometimes, we miss. We're human; we're crushed for time; it happens, and we're sorry 'bout that.

But.

I will not answer rude one-liners from rude email addresses, which include in the body of the letter an animated purple elephant attached to an ad encouraging me to download a library of like cartoons for use in my correspondence.

Thank you.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled blog.

Give them a short "morality play" sequence of email messages.

1. The "Oh, look at the neat thing I found" memo from the CEO's AA to her friend - fully illustrated, naturally, with colored blinking text in multiple fonts.

2. The "Thanks, but don't do that to my email" memo from the CEO to her (plain courier text)

3. The "But it's so much fun!" email that she sends to her friend (with cc to the CEO and a mailing list, since she started it with a reply - again, fully illustrated, blinking and animated).

4. The "Thank you. Please report to human relations, who will explain your severance package to you. The dancing purple elephants sent to our stockholders were not conducive to our corporate image." email from the CEO. plain text.

That might help?
