Hey! Voices have timbre! Also? The audio balance on the car stereo is completely scrod. It will be a pleasure to fix it.

In other news, after my enforced absence, Duainfey recommences creeping toward Bethlehem. This morning, I revealed to [livejournal.com profile] kinzel my desire to finish the draft this weekend, which was the cue for several Household Disasters to leap up and run around the block, with both of us in hot pursuit. Think I'd learn.

Tomorrow, I'm taking a couple hours off to practice with the badminton club. As I don't believe I've picked up a badminton racquet once in the last 35 years, this ought to be...interesting.

What's everyone been doing that's fun?

Woo-hoo for hearing in stereo! I was durn near deaf until I was about 4 and surgery opened my ears -- I remember how startled I was at how noisy life is. Ain't it grand?

Well lessee, Start of the new school year, and thats always fun -I love watching the children grow and develop.
I've been having a lot of fun hanging out with my baby niece (just 2 weeks old) and 2.5 yr old nephew . . . .
Also *just* came back from a "Pirate" themed party at a friends house . . . . . and had a wonderful time -though we didn't do much more exciting than talk, watch pirate movies and giggle together.

Stereo! Excellent!

Reading. Lots and lots of reading. *looks around, picks up The Corinthian, waves it* See? I blame my Georgette Heyer addiction completely on you and Steve.

Also, housecleaning. *looks around again* Not very successfully, le sigh.

Congrats on the successful surgery. Finestkind.

It's those little things that are such pleasures. Hearing on both sides, teeth that mesh right, losing that persistent ache in the leg, or maybe the 5 yr old with a little frog?

On our trip to Spain, I've discovered churros y chocolato (deep fried corn meal curls with hot chocolate-and many places have a selection of hot chocolates for fun) Also robojiuvas - a beef stew, but excellent with crusty bread.

I am sure there are others, but one of them is reading that you are doing well after surgery ! Keep on listening - there are lots of odd sounds out here!

My Sue was going thru a marathon session correcting the manuscript of one of her novels in the kitchen so I kept her silent company. I took a notepad and started scribbling bits and pieces for upcoming blog entries, and would step away to type them into a Word document, and, by supper time, wound up with 4 entries that are longer than my usual, ready to be posted in the coming week. (Hey, you in that corner, don't think I didn't hear that.) Then, after supper, Sue stepped away to work at her computer, so I went to the living-room and watched the rest of my own backlog of "Doctor Who". Finally got to see the episode "blink". Later on, it was neat seeing Derek Jacobi, but then again it usually is.

You're feeling better! That's wunnerful! Do let us know how the badminton goes. I'm curious how you'll take it after a 35 year absence.

I'm cooking (corn and poblano empanadas) and writing an article for my food blog about the farm bill. Oh and laundry - that's fun, isn't it?

Also revising Dunallon. That's always fun, it's just that the dern book will never be finished...

Fun? Just made chocolate-chip banana bread with younger niece and nephew. More fun will be the eating!

Un-fun has been spending a week doing a forced cleaning and packing of my office, so that everything can be moved out, new paint and carpet applied, and everything moved back in. Then I get to unpack, quickly, so as to pass the boxes along to someone else in the office. S'what I get for keeping the same office space for 14 years...

Yay for successful surgery! "You're hearing things from both ears now..." Being a kind fan, I'll stop there. ;)

Fencon was fun, but we missed you guys. Maybe y'all can come, one of these years.
