I find in this morning's mail that Fictionwise has made three more Sharon Lee titles available: "The Handsome Prince," "The Big Ice," and Gunshy. All available books are located on one handy page, as well as a place to sign up to receive notifications when other works by Sharon Lee are posted. Readers are also apparently able to rate the ebooks they've read. Who knew?

In the on-going cell phone saga: I am extremely sorry to report that the new phone does not work on the Big Hill, despite being surrounded by persons talking non-stop on similar devices. Sigh. I would really rather not have to sign up for a two-year contract at usurious monthly rates, but I may not have a choice.

And, glancing at the clock on the wall, I see that I'd better get my act in gear to get outta here.

You might ask around to see what carriers other people are using that might have usable service in the areas you want; some of them may also offer prepaid phones. I know T-Mobile has prepaid plans, and I've been pretty happy with their coverage in places like Olympic National Park (the Lake Crescent area, anyway). Unfortunately their prepaid coverage page looks pretty sparse in Maine, even if you have a phone that can use the 850MHz band.

Virgin Mobile (http://www.virginmobileusa.com/) piggy-backs on Sprint's network. If Sprint has service, Virgin probably does too. (I'm a customer of Virgin, and have been happy with them - but I live near Chicago and can get service from pretty much everywhere.) They're pay-as-you-go; you have to put $20 on the phone every 90 days, and calls cost $0.20/minute. (They also have monthly pay-as-you-go plans; I don't use the phone often enough to make that sensible, but you might.)
