It might be Friday

Thunderstorms on the overnight. Despite both Mozart and Scrabble concentrating Sleep Ray production in the bedroom, a restless night. Big pot o'coffee on the brew.

A Territory Ahead catalog arrived in the mail within the last couple days. I looked through it last night and immediately identified various items of clothing that would infinitely spruce up my (currently very limited) day-job clothes closet. A nice wool jacket, and some machine-washable silk-and-cotton shirts to replace my beloved dark blue silk shirt which has gotten too shabby to wear, a nice sweater. Oh, and a vest, 'cause you can never have enough vests.

*Sigh*. I think the nurses mixed up my fashion sense with the kid in the crib next to me at the hospital...

Today looks to be a busy one at the job, while I play ketchup on two projects I was supposed to have known needed to be done without fail directly school starts -- and
which I would have know about by osmosis, I guess -- then a full weekend with Duainfey.

So, what're y'all doing this weekend?

oh, and the weekend is going to be split between writing, going over a line edit, working on a New Project, and making the first lasagna of the season. I was supposed to go to a local renfaire, too, but the weather may be wet enough to remind me there's work to be done...

My weekend

[identity profile] orlacarey.livejournal.com 2007-10-12 12:52 pm (UTC)(link)
1) Ren Fest including a meet n greet with a local charity group (Team Wench)
2) House/Cat/Dogsitting
3) Teaching a bobbin lace lesson
4) SCA meeting where I'll probably become Seneschal (CEO) for my local SCA group

Hopefully I'll even get to read something!

Same here. They offer a leather jacket (http://www.territoryahead.com/jump.jsp?itemID=2038&itemType=PRODUCT&path=1%2C2%2C5%2C33%2C321&iProductID=2038&sortBy=Sort%20by&page=1&onePage=) that I've been eyeing for two years. I so want to spring for it in a month or two, as a reward for getting through the year.

May be raking leaves this weekend. Mowing the lawn for hopefully yhe last time this year. Working on GIDEON, the incredible unending proposal. And maybe making a pot of scallop-corn chowder.

This is the first time I've ever seen that catalog. It looks like someone picked only from the fall color block, but mmmmmm those sweaters are nice.

This weekend?

Saturday I'll be working out at Curves, then doing laundry and baking applesauce raisin cookies and icing them with glaze. Might sneak in a trip to the Cider Mill too.

Sunday I'll be at the Day of Sharing for my local branch of the International Cake Exploration Society (ICES), sharing my cookies and seeing demos on various cake decorating techniques and ideas.

And Monday and Tuesday I'll be taking a class on making gumpaste blossoms and berries that look like this (http://new.photos.yahoo.com/rsstew2002/album/576460762390687120).

Huge excitement here, I'll be moving the contents of and vacating my storage unit...moving into an empty room in the basement of the building I live in...same cost, vastly increased convenience...possibly other stuff, like a major lumber run, but the key is the storage unit.

Does it surprise you in the least that we're headed out Saturday to Schenectady to judge Sunday's cat show?

I end up looking at Territory Ahead, and then cheating and going to my favorite dress clothes outlet.

something's been tickling at my mind about this book and I finally realized what it was...Octavia Butler had a book published this year entitled "Fledgling"...will there be a problem for you?

Happy birthday!

Octavia Butler had a book published this year entitled "Fledgling"...will there be a problem for you?

I'm pretty sure that nobody is going to mistake our work for Octavia's, and...

You can't copyright titles.

To demonstrate this, a story: In the year 1988, no fewer than three books bearing the title Agent of Change were published. One was a chemistry textbook; the second, by a gentleman named Steve Miller (aka "Trade Show Steve," who forwarded our fan mail to us for years, kind man) was a book about how to put on trade shows; and the third was a science fiction paperback original with a giant turtle on the cover.

This weekend? Karate class x2, Company picnic at the local orchard, reading a 438 page book onto tape, and attempting to add an additional sub-plot to a novel as seamlessly as possible.

I think I might be overbooked.

So, what're y'all doing this weekend?

Good question. I thought getting to San Francisco to see a doctor Monday, but they've lost my appointment.

They claim they will make room for me.

They'd better....
