This is a test of the Dragon NaturallySpeaking system. It's been on my machine for about an hour, and I must say that it is much improved over the previous versions I've used. The biggest problem was finding the speech DLL that would allow the program to work.

So far so good.

Thanks, Mike!

Looks good. Much better results that I get with ViaVoice (reason#1 I don't use it)

I've always wondered how well it would work for writing. My spoken voice is not as formal or as structured as the voice I use for writing.

Gaah -- likely that is what I get for learning composition in the Dark Ages when parallel structure and not changing subject were of earnest importance to English teachers.

Younger Son has used Dragon for years on his academic work. Don't know if his jargon (perceptual psychology) is any harder to decode than Liaden...

David Pogue, author of the Missing Manuals series as well as many other books, swears by Dragon Naturally Speaking. I've seen him demonstrate it live.
