...and it neither started nor is continuing well. Have gotten some small amount of writing done, along with a good bit of fretting, along with cat cuddles. Very soon have to get ready for the last gig, thank ghod, of the week. But that's today.

Yesterday was a much more amusing day, starting out with the infamous interview-for-cable. Our interviewer was ...inexperienced... and it turns out that being panelists at SF conventions was good training for this hour-long event. We did some of our usual riffs, though I do regret Maggie's Farm, and possibly it all came out all right. Or will after editing. Improbably enough, I'm eagerly awaiting the promised tape, so I can see how we look to other people. One of those writer/observer things.

After the interview, we went along to Augusta in the not-quite rain, picked up the printing, grabbed lunch at Subway and came home to eat and story conference. This yielded mixed results -- i.e. the story we have is not the story that's wanted -- and we separated to write, Steve on _Crystal Soldier_ and me on yet another iteration of the Miri story. Around about eight, we broke for dinner, some idle talk, and so to bed.

First thing this morning, I realized that I had forgotten a Crucial Fact in the Canon, which I checked in _Carpe Diem_, just to be sure, thereafter spending a few minutes swearing and wondering after the location of tall buildings to leap off of. Since there really aren't that many tall buildings in this part of Central Maine, anyway, and I really didn't want to drive to Lewiston, I figured out a work-around, and sat down to write, achieving about 1300 words which will, by ghod, *work* because this is my last swing at this particular project.

Tomorrow, I will absolutely finish the story, and commence upon the packing of SRM orders that can now be filled. There are some Meisha Merlin orders around, too. With luck and a tailwind, all orders in-hand will go out on Monday.

...and now it's time to get ready to go to the Winslow Library and talk to the Teen Club about how to be a writer.
