The Longest Short Week on Record
Saturday, January 12th, 2008 06:14 pmI don't know about y'all, but every single day of this week crawled like a rattlesnake in January. Things were so slow, in fact, that my senses were stupefied and all like that, whereupon I am now startled to discover that it is already Saturday evening.
Sigh. While time is convenient for keeping track of which ingredients need to go into the souffle first, it has its bad points, too.
So, anyway, Saturday. I figured out this morning that my office here at home was so messy I hated being in it, which is no good if you're, like, trying to write a novel in here, so I spent a couple hours this morning tidying up, revealing that I not only have at least large portions of floor, but Actual Tabletop. This comforts me, and now I no longer feel that I've been exiled to the backest corner of the junkyard.
This morning I also realized that Line A was taking Too Damn Long to intersect with Line B and if I didn't do something Radical, we were all going to be here until the next ice age, so I have duly gone forth and done something Radical. I am Cautiously Optimistic. Note to self: Next time you need to have two characters meet, do not begin the story with them on opposite sides of the kingdom. Honestly; you'd think you'd know stuff like this by now.
While I was goofing off,
kinzel was productive; you may partake of the fruit of his genius over here.
On the weather front, the snow is almost gone, melted and rained upon and despised. It's a right mess out there, what with the mud and the dry grass and the rest of it. I had so hoped for a consistent snow cover until, oh, March...
