The weather, it arrives

It started snowing leisurely at 7:10 this morning. When I left the house ten minutes later, it was snowing with a will. By the time I got to the gas station, six miles away, the streets were covered, the air was white and driving was getting treacherous fast. Despite these challenges, I made it to the day-job in one piece, where the insanity continued. Eventually, the snow stopped, though the insanity did not, and I was able to stagger away at four o'clock and undertake a thrill-less drive home, where I buckled down to writing, last night having been lost to doing the taxes.
We may have some Exciting News in the next few days (I'm such a tease). In the meantime, though, it's snowing.

Date: 2008-02-07 01:27 am (UTC)Took me nearly an hour and a half to get home (6.6 miles) from work instead of the usual 20-30 minutes (depending on traffic). And I think I may need new tires, as I had to stop twice going up the same hill, and nearly wasn't able to get going again.
Spin, spin, spin go the tires on the slippery slope.
