Packin' it in
Tuesday, August 31st, 2004 05:01 pmBig thunderstorm around 4 a.m. blew out the power, leaving us awake and uncomfortable in the still, wet air. Dozed off around 6 with my head on
kinzel's shoulder and Mozart's head on mine, and woke up suddenly a little after 8, when the power came back on with a squeal and a shout.
Accomplishments today have all been trip-related.
The Big Bag is packed; my tote bag is packed. Sabu is packed -- correction. Sabu's cranching wire is over on the work-table.
Sigh.
Back in a sec.
...
OK. Now Sabu is packed.
The cats are Nervous. Mozart several times today tried the old ploy of sitting on my lap -- if he holds me down, I can't go anyplace. This has never worked, but I can't really blame him for trying.
Tomorrow, the handover to the housesitter, the train to the Big City in the South and -- WorldCon, for better or for worse.
I'm gone.
