*Payroll forgot to cut my check this week
*They'll be doing a direct deposit which will show up on Friday instead of on Thursday, so no harm done, except, yanno, psychic
*Steve is on the road to the late great state of Maryland while I languish here in Maine, and Scrabble knows who to blame

Date: 2008-11-13 03:39 am (UTC)Oh, lord, university payroll screwups . . . I can still start twitching if I think about some of the ones I ran into back when I was a grad student, and that was mumblemumble decades ago.
Publishers are slow as a matter of fixed business practice; university departments are slow and screwed up because they're just too damned lackadaisical to care.
