Boring Domestic Stuff

Mist flowing 'round the tree tops when I got up at 6:30. By the time I was finished the early morning cat chores, the mist was a full-fledged fog. The weatherbeans are calling for near-60(F) today and a chance of thunderstorms. What interesting weather.
Have to figure out a way to keep Hex from eating all the food, all the time. There are three cat bowls, and they're all his, which is tedious, at the least. Also, while I don't mind a big cat, I don't really think he needs to come to his Full Adult Weight within the next two weeks.
Laundry is started; breakfast eated and there's still coffee in the pot. My mission today is to re-vision the last third of Fledgling and get with the writing. The faculty member from whom the major amount of work has flowed this past month is out of town until Wednesday (when she returns, the deluge, I'm afraid...), so I'll take the Duainfey mass market proofs with me to the day-job. I'm looking at this as a golden opportunity to find out how many sex scenes there actually are...
The fog is getting thicker. Mozart is asleep on his box by my knee; Scrabble is curled 'round in the co-pilot's chair in Steve's office, and Hexapuma is...somewhere. Hmmmm....

Date: 2008-11-15 10:11 pm (UTC)Unworthily, that was my first thought. He was, however, Innocently(tm) curled up under the futon in the basement. This has become, as I understand it, a Favorite Spot. I worry that he'll have a growth spurt while he's under there and not be able to get out...

Date: 2008-11-15 04:10 pm (UTC)We had to resort to holding the greedy one so that the others had a chance to eat. To this day he'll gulp his food then reach over and drag the other's bowl out from under their mouths to eat their food.

Date: 2008-11-15 10:16 pm (UTC)Hmm... Hex is still smaller than Mozart, though he may eventually (like, next Wednesday) surpass him in fact if not in deed. Scrabble is your basic seven-pound Cat's Cat. It's Scrabble who is most traumatized by the Tiger in the Kitchen, but I'm not sanguine regarding the probability of her willingly entering a box, even to eat. Worth a try, I guess. At the least it will be amusing watching Hex pushing the box around the kitchen, with his head stuck in the opening...

Date: 2008-11-17 10:32 pm (UTC)Please do note: H.P. is used to free feeding all day, whenever he wants, and he has never been overweight. He may be hungry . . .
