I got home slightly before noon, thanks to the appearance of one of my bosses, who released me to my own devices at eleven o'clock. The stop at the vet's on the way home, to pick up Hexapuma's ear drops, was somewhat longer than anticipated. Apparently Christmas snuck up on a lot of people this year, and Katie was fielding frantic phone calls from pet-owners -- like me, actually -- who were running low on meds, and suddenly realized that tomorrow wasn't just Thursday, but a close of business until Monday. Eeep.

At home, Steve made salmon cakes and asparagus for lunch, then we wandered out into the Mixed Precipitation to acquire at the Agway bird food, 2 pairs of Stabilicers, 1 discounted wreath, and a snow shovel so that the SRM office in Beautiful Downtown Waterville may be accoutered in the first mode.

Those chores done, we wended our way into town, where we discovered the credit union closed, the Postal Station and the 107 open. Did what business that was needful, saving the banking, came home the long way, hung the wreath, decanted and decorated the ceramic tree, and baked chocolate chip cookies. I need to download a file from The Leewit to my desktop, wash the dishes, and ...we're on holiday for the next few and a bit.

Comfort and joy to all and everyone.

In a most unusual scramble, I read that you you needed to download a life from The Leewit, and I said "Whoa! That can't be right!"

A file -- that's better.

Infernal devices?

Happy Holidays to you and Steve!

Happy holidays!

I have been searching the household frantically for I Dare for two days, wanting to backtrack something from this year's chapbook. Did you know used copies are now selling for as high as $202.00?

Have Meisha Merlin editions become collectors' items? The original paperbacks got actually a good bit higher than that before Plan B and I Dare came out.

Apparently so. I did list the high price; the going price on bookfinder.com seems to be more like $30-$40. (still must find my copy, dammit.)
